Automated Toolkit Development

A Toolkit consists of a tailored software program that leads you step-by-step through a process of research and analysis with supporting tools, compiles scenarios and then guides you through the report writing process using the collected data. This helps to standardize and automate the report writing. Toolkits are developed for individual clients based upon their needs.

Automated Toolkits developed by Acton Consulting include:

  • The Citizen’s Engagement Toolkit
  • The Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP) Toolkit
  • Community Beverage Container Program Toolkit

Toolkits work best when you have a clear purpose with identifiable goals, as they can then be used more than once to evaluate different scenarios or create plans for different locations.

Sample Acton Experience:

Alberta Association

Acton assisted the Association complete a project to develop a toolkit to assist members in determining their needs for Internet Service Provision (ISP).Within a balanced scorecard framework, Acton developed a diagnostic tool comprised of two components: self-assessment and benchmarks. This enabled a comprehensive assessment that considered key performance indicators in the areas of Financial, Customer, Internal Processes, and Learning and Growth. The Ministry completed a series of questions in each of these areas to receive an overall score.

This toolkit was of great interest to the members as many were struggling to understand their role in providing these services. The toolkit allowed members to:

  • Determine the need for internet service in their constituency
  • Provide different service provision options and associated costs
  • Create a business case to access funding
