Beyond The Balanced Scorecard
Duration: One-day workshop
Theme: Use strategy mapping to enhance performance measurement (Balanced Scorecard) techniques.
Who Should Attend: Financial and operational managers who currently use, or have some prior experience of, performance measurement.
Content: Management is often challenged to find ways to allocate resources to key initiatives while at the same time maintaining excellence in core operations. We can help you take the concepts of the BSc and extend them, using strategy maps, to manage resource allocation and achieve better resource management overall.
Strategy mapping helps organizations translate a business plan into manageable, actionable pieces and provides you with a graphic depiction of business strategy that can help identify and allocate resources to specific projects and key initiatives. Coupling the strategy map with a trade-off matrix will further enable you to prioritize resource allocation. We will explore these tools using lecture, discussion and break-out exercises to show how to apply performance measurement in practical ways to achieve strategic goals. We will also examine potential problems such as under-resourcing of operational units and key projects, and the integration of core operations and project management.
