Knowledge Management (KM) is composed of a range of procedures used in an organization to identify, create, represent, distribute and enable adoption of insights and experiences. This knowledge can be obtained from individuals within the business, or they can be entrenched in company practices or policies.

The need for knowledge management in organizations has increased dramatically as the workforce has started to age. Acton has developed an extensive set of Knowledge Management tools that will help organizations design customized systems for capturing and sharing important knowledge

Alberta Government Ministry

Acton helped to identify methods for managing knowledge within the Ministry and how to identify KM opportunities  More specifically this involved testing the current Knowledge Management framework, surveying staff to further develop and improve the framework, and developing an approach that integrates aspects of information management and information technology into knowledge management framework.

Alberta Medical Board
Acton assisted a rapidly expanding public organization develop a proactive knowledge transfer model that assisted with the exchange of information in the future. This entailed the development of a knowledge exchange model, within the organization which provided stakeholders with the necessary tools to foster knowledge exchange between people and groups in the organization.
